Murphy, Your Center School Dog Interventionist!

Hello Everyone!

I miss you all so much!  While we are away from school,  I asked my Mom if I could make a video series to share with you what I've been doing and hopefully bring a smile to your face!  Check back often and feel free to write me or send videos of yourself to my Mom, at lgiuggio@longmeadow.k12.ma.us.  She will show them to me and I'll respond to you right away (I'm getting very good at typing on the computer!).  Take care!
Love,

Murphy🐾💕

First Graders Teach the Water Cycle!

First graders were so excited to work on choral reading for their movie!  Practicing their scripts and working on saying their lines together, they did a fabulous job showcasing the water cycle that they are learning in science class.

Social Emotional Strategies!

Second graders from Mrs. Serafino's class provide tried and true strategies for coping with a variety of different emotions. Learn how to regulate yourself when feeling over excited, calm yourself when feeling upset, cheer yourself up when feeling sad, gain confidence when feeling nervous, and wake up when feeling tired. Created and written by second grade students, these strategies will work for all ages!

Second Grade STEM Projects!

In writer's workshop the second graders are working on opinion writing.  They combined their STEM skills and writing skills to create a "toy" using all recyclable materials.  Then, using what they know about persuasive writing, they wrote their own commercial scripts to convince others to buy their invention! Their creativity and persuasiveness really shone in these amazing commercials!

As does the creativity of their teachers, Mrs. Gildersleeve, Mrs. Serafino, and Ms. Anderson!
