Presenting...The Branches of Government

The second graders worked very hard on creating a presentation on the Branches of Government.  First, they researched each branch and took notes.  Secondly, they put the information they learned into a Keynote presentation.  Thirdly, they added transitions and special effects.  Finally, they presented their projects to the class on the big screen!  The way the children helped each other during this project was most impressive.

Landforms: Face of the Earth

The fourth graders have been studying landforms and designed informative visual dictionaries to help them understand many of the landforms on our Earth.  Then we took a "Museum Walk" to view each others' collages.  Well done Grade Four!

Fifth Grade Presentation Time!

The fifth graders have been working closely with their teachers to develop a social studies presentation on the branches of government.  Part of the oral presentation was a technology component.  The students had an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in several creative ways.  Enjoy the engaging tech projects they completed as a team to utilize in their presentations.

First Graders Gear Up for Elections!

After a discussion about the upcoming presidential election, the first graders took to using the app "pic collage" their iPads.  They identified the candidates, how the voting process works, how the winner is decided and where the President lives.  Their knowledge and ability to create a poster about the election was top notch!

An Apple a Day

The third graders, in their ongoing study of Johnny Appleseed, viewed and listened to a story on his life.  While reading the story, each child recorded KEY words describing the life of Johnny Appleseed.  Taking these key words, the children created word apples!

First Grade Scientists

The first grade set out in nature to select leaves from trees on the green.  Then using the app, Leafsnap, they were able to identify the tree the leaf came from as well as see the flowers, fruit, seeds, and so many more details.  The students did an amazing job of identifying parts of the trees they had seen before in different seasons.  As the first graders move on to their leaf unit, they have taken a big step forward!
