Welcome back to our show for a special episode, including our Helping Hands program, an interview with new Superintendent, Dr. Marty O'Shea, and a look into the first meeting of our kindergarten and fifth grade buddies. You don't want to miss it!

A special thanks to the group of NINE 5th graders who put this one together - wow, are they learning quickly - and to our fifth grade teachers who make it possible for all fifth graders to participate in the production of our newscast.

Center School Sightings Newscast - Episode 2!

Welcome back to Center School Sightings (CSS for short), our fifth grade run news program, informing you about everything going on at Center!

This episode is about our annual Peace Rally in honor of International Peace Day!  Being Peace Builders ourselves, we had a lot to celebrate!  Each grade prepared a special presentation, led by their classroom teachers.  Way to go!!

First Grade Peace Builders!

The first graders are learning everything it takes to be a Center School Peace Builder!  When asked, "What does a Peace Builder do?" each student gave an answer that was made into the following doves.  It is so impressive what they can communicate about all the information they are learning!

Interactive Learning in Reading, Social Studies and Writing!

The kindergarteners read a story, "Elmer and Rose" then used the iPads to draw the main character, a very unique elephant!
The second graders used the iPads to write and draw an example of what it means to be a good citizen in a community.  Then the second graders created "All about Me" posters on the MacBooks, writing about what makes them special.

Center School Sightings Newscast - Episode 1!

Welcome to another season of our school newscast, Center School Sightings (CSS)!  We're excited about bringing you all of the events and excitement for learning from our school.

This newscast is produced entirely by our fifth graders!  They are the videographers, reporters, anchors and editors.  It is amazing to see the news through their eyes.

Our first episode takes you to our beginning of the year all school assembly.  A special thank you to Bella and Ada for kicking off the newscast in style!

Our Final Center School Sightings of the Year!

What an appropriate last episode - entitled Center Cares, watch how students and parents continue to give to those in need.  For this episode, they traveled to Brookings Elementary in Springfield for a celebration of their volunteer work.

Third Grade's Got Talent!

Third graders showcased their talents by making these individual videos!!  Mrs. Longo and Ms. Iancu created iMovies they showed on the last full day of school to celebrate these talented children!  Enjoy!
