A Very Special Episode of Center School Sightings
This presentation will change not only how you view plastic bags forever, but also the power of a passionate group of students.
Starting last year with the book, The Voyage of Plastiki, fifth grade students became passionate about the five great garbage patches in the ocean. This year, after reading, The Invasion of the Plastic Bags, their passion intensified.
Four fifth graders gave a presentation that is remarkable. Their audience, the PTO. Now, you too can become the audience to this serious situation the fifth graders so eloquently informed us about. Get some kleenex ready!
A sincere and special thank you to Mrs. Valerie Fritz, who is able to bring real world problems to the classroom and challenge these children in a way that will propel them forward. They will change our world.

Center School Sightings, Episode 14 - Disney Comes to Center!
Center's third grade teacher, Ms. Nichols, invited her sister, Sue Nichols, to present to the third graders about her storied career at Disney Productions. Sue developed and drew Hercules, among many other characters for Disney's films.
The third graders are studying traditional literature, fables, legends, and myths. Learning how to draw a mythological character from one of the best certainly expands their studies! Enjoy!
