Idiom Time for 3rd Graders!

Using UDL (Universal Design Learning) guidelines, third graders have been introduced to idioms through discussion, slide decks, musical idiom songs, and a collaborative hold the phone idiom game. 

To demonstrate their knowledge, the students chose from the following options and worked with each other to bring out their best:

• Photograph two idioms and write a few sentences about the idiom's meaning.
• Draw three idioms and explain what they mean.
• Make a video acting out an idiom and explain the meaning.
• Create a Google slideshow of at least five idioms and their meaning with pictures.
• Think outside the box and create your own idea!

The students hit it out of the park!! It was fascinating to see what they chose, and a few students took it a step farther, by creating a stop motion and a virtual reality of their chosen idioms!!

Kindergarten Robot Time!

1st Grade 1st Green Screen Movie!

For the first time, first graders are performing on the green screen! 🥳 The theme is special people, and first graders chose a person in their lives who is special and told us why.  Way to go first graders! You did an exceptional job!!!

Breaking News! The Explorers Interviews!

As part of their social studies unit on explorers, fourth graders made these creative interview videos! Look out CNN!

First students learned all about the explorers and then they collaborated by writing scripts with clever lines for both the interviewer and for the explorer.  They learned how to use chroma-key green screen technology, choose a background, film each other, and finally, came up with spectacular ideas to make their interview one of a kind! So impressed with their collaboration, creativity, and taking their ideas to the next level! Enjoy!
