Fourth grader, Fanchi, taught her class how to do animation using the Flip-a-Clip app on the iPads. So proud of her iniative, sharing her skills, and how well she did in her teaching debut!! She helped the students who had questions and gave tips and tricks - plus the kids LOVED the app! We now have 4th grade animators! Thank you Fanchi!!!

International Hour of Code!
We do coding throughout the year, but this week is special as we join
over 1 billion people across the world in the International Hour of Code. Throughout the week, students in grades K-5 take part in many different coding activities. From Robotics Dash and Blockly, Dance Party and Minecraft on https://code.org/ (among hundreds of others!), to Osmo coding, Hopscotch and Scratch, children engage in sequencing skills, problem solving, collaboration, creating content, and the list goes on.
Children love to continue this work at home! Congratulations to fifth grader, Addy, whose Hopscotch creation was chosen as one of it's featured projects with over 18,000 plays!
So proud of our Center Coders!

Name that State Gameshow! Your Hosts: The Fourth Graders!
The fourth graders produced their own movies to see how well YOU know your New England states!
First, they collaboratively researched their states. Secondly, each group of students wrote their scripts together. Thirdly, they decided on a green screen background, and lastly, they used the DoInk app to film one another, encouraging expression in their voices.
From beginning to end, so proud of their efforts! Fourth graders can do it all!!
Now let's see how YOU do in their gameshow!
