Paws4Cardinals
I am thrilled to report after our successful pilot program last year, we are expanding our dog assisted intervention program, Paws4Cardinals, at Center School. There’s nothing Murphy enjoys more than working with children to spread happiness and provide assistance.
This year, Murphy will be visiting twice a week as well as coming in for "Meet and Greets" with all of the Center School students as a way for them to get to know our dog assistant better.
As expected, the visits are a highlight in the day for all involved! To learn more about Murphy, please click on his website: Paws4Cardinals

Virtual Reality Comes to Center!
Thank you LEEF for the incredible grant to bring ClassVR to technology! Students have begun their travels!!
Third grade - Instead of reading about the seven continents, we actually travelled to each continent! We went to the Great Wall of China, the Sydney Opera House, the Rocky Mountains, a rain forest in Brazil, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the desert in Morocco, and to Antartica to visit with the penguins.
Second grade- In their study of US Landmarks, we traveled all over the United States to visit the Statue of Liberty, Old Faithful, the Golden Gate Bridge, Grand Canyon, the Gateway Arch, and more!
First grade- What better way to learn about the seasons then to see them? We experienced a Maine winter, a California summer, the Spring Cherry Blossoms in Washington D.C., and fall in Utah.
The students were SO excited, and learned so much from their experiences! Be sure to ask them all about it!
Thank you Ms. M for capturing our trip in photos!

Center School Sightings - Episode 2!
In the spirit of teaching our students about the importance of community service, we have begun our sixth yearlong effort to feed those in need of assistance. Center School Helping Hands is a school-wide effort that provides our students an opportunity to work as grade level teams to make a difference by making sandwiches to help feed the hungry. Helping Hands is a collective endeavor that depends on the generosity of our Peace Builders community; and we anticipate another successful year! Here’s how it works: Each grade level will be assigned a month to meet one morning in the cafeteria at 7:45 AM to make sandwiches with their grade level team. The students will go directly to their classrooms at 8:25.
